*Asana Breakdown: SHOULDERS

Welcome to Asana Breakdown

In a typical yoga class there is not enough time to break down and explore the postures.  This series will give you skills to take back to your physical yoga practice creating movements that are more mindful and more functional.  Each class will explore the concepts of mobility, stability, and flexibility, as well as, active versus passive ranges of motion.

The entire series is open to all who practice yoga and are curious to learn more.  Continuing education credit will be available for yoga teachers

Asana Breakdown: SHOULDERS

We will look at actual ranges of movement in the shoulders and uncover compensatory movement behaviors.  Shoulder function is essential for arm balances, backbends, and handstands.  We will explore skills to increase range of motion and gain strength.

Barbara Denowh is a movement nerd and has been teaching yoga in Helena for ten years.  She excels at bringing variability and sustainability into a physical yoga practice.  She is obsessed with uncovering movement patterns and compensatory movement behaviors.  Currently she is studying biomechanics and is the co-lead for the Yoga Nerd Yoga Teacher Training.  You can find her online at BDY Mindful Movement.  You can find her in person at The Lotus on Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 PM.

*This class requires a minimum of 6 students. In the event this minimum is not met one week prior to the class, anyone registered will be notified and refunded.
